How was March for new movies? I think the only new release that I saw was Zootopia (which I was not terribly impressed with, alas). April isn’t a huge month for new movies, but there are two that I have my eye on.

The Jungle Book
Release Date: April 15
Rated: PG for some sequences of scary action and peril
I’m super excited about this movie. Disney’s been doing well with their live-action remakes recently (Cinderella was my top movie of 2015, and though I haven’t seen it, I’ve heard excellent things about Maleficent). Jungle Book looks like it’s no exception.
The Huntsman: Winter’s War
Release Date: April 22
Rated: Rated PG-13 for fantasy action violence and some sensuality
So it sort of looks like they took all the best parts of Snow White and the Huntsman (not a terrible movie, but not great either) and decided to make another movie. Which I’m ok with, since the best parts of SW&H were pretty cool. Less Kristen Stewart is usually a good thing too.
Here’s a completely serious question: has anyone seen Kristen Stewart in a part they actually thought she was good in? I think she’s rather terrible in everything I’ve seen her in. Which isn’t much, to be honest. I really am curious. Let me know in the comments if there’s a movie of hers I should check out!
