For the month of December, we’re taking a little break from Literal Book Covers to appreciate some of the absolutely gorgeous book covers of 2016! I could probably name a fabulous cover for every day this month, but I chose a a few that really stood out to me.

What covers stood out to you this year?

Starflight (Starflight #1) by Melissa Landers

I honestly can’t believe I haven’t read this book yet. I love sci-fi space opera-y stuff. I like that it’s not just a picture of people that vaguely hints at the sci-fi part, it’s like HEY THIS IS SPACE AND ALL THIS GLOWING STUFF TELLS YOU ITS STAR TREK SPACE, NOT REAL SPACE. Which, lets be honest, is way more fun. Not to mention that every time I pass Starflight at the library, it calls to me, like a siren. I’ve checked it out probably three times, but for some reason, I’ve returned it unread every time. The cover is gorgeous though, and it’s definitely a priority for me to read in 2017.

What do you think of the cover of Starflight?
