Disney Rambles: Birthday at Disney World!

I was very fortunate to be able to be at Disney World on my birthday at the beginning of April. Disney does a lot of things well, of course, but they are very attentive to celebrations! First off, when you check into your hotel, tell the cast member at the front desk that you are celebrating, whether it’s a birthday, an anniversary, a first time visit, graduation, etc. They will give you one of these awesome buttons!

Be sure to wear this button EVERYWHERE during your visit. 90% of the cast members you pass will wish you a happy birthday (or congratulate you, or ask what you’re celebrating, if you get one of the general “I’m celebrating!” buttons), and some of the restaurants will even give you extra little birthday desserts, complete with lit candle!

*Chocolate cake from The Garden Grill. For those of you who’ve eaten at the Garden Grill, this was in addition to the already included Berry Shortcake. Lolz.*

If you choose to eat at a character dining restaurant (which I highly recommend, especially if you’re celebrating something), the characters will see your button and will congratulate you, or do a little happy dance (Chip and Dale were especially fun in this). Lady Tremaine at 1900 Park Fare (Cinderella’s evil stepmother) asked my mom if she’d given me a special chore to do for my birthday.

I’ve heard stories of people getting some crazy things when they’re celebrating. You never know what cast members will see you and have something fun give out! (Little side note: just being nice to the cast members can get you cool stuff. This has happened on multiple occasions to me. Not that you should be nice just to get things, of course. But just saying.)

Also, a shout out to the very sweet couple who bought me a chocolate chip cookie from Starbucks on Main Street when they saw my birthday button. You guys made my morning! I don’t know your names, but you blessed me on my birthday, and made it even more special.

Also, I may have stopped in at all four parks on my birthday. Cause that’s how I roll.

Have you ever celebrated at Disney? What was your favorite magical moment?

Love this and love that you celebrated your birthday in one of my favorite places. <3 I have celebrated MANY occasions at Disney. For myself and with others. It's a benefit of living so close. 🙂 I hope the rest of your year is just as magical. xo
