I love eating at Epcot, because there are so many wonderful and varied restaurants to choose from. While we had passed Spice Road Table many times, this most recent visit was our first time eating there. It’s a tiny establishment, with only one narrow indoor eating area and bar, with many of the tables on an outdoor patio. One of the delightful things about Spice Road Table is that it is directly on the water of Showcase Lagoon.
*I took this from my seat at our lovely window table*
The staff was delightful, and very quick to share recommendations from their home country (one of the things I adore about Epcot!) and to even recommend dishes from the other restaurants in the Morocco pavilion. Due to the small indoor eating area, you can’t get a bad seat, as the wall on the water side is made of enormous windows.
*This is the extent of the indoor eating area; the bar and outdoor patio are behind me and also right on the water*
There was a rather large, boisterous party at the bar (which is the first thing you see upon walking into the restaurant and is architecturally quite lovely); however, when at Disney World, I certainly don’t mind a little excited celebration.
The food was delicious! I went a bit on the safe side, with chicken and beef kebabs, and some of the most delicious potatoes I think I’ve ever eaten (no really, I’m going back next week just so I can order them again!)
This is a bit more grown up of a restaurant; there are no Disney characters milling about, so it may not be the best choice for a family with young kids, especially since the cuisine may be a bit exotic for them. But with beautiful scenery, delicious food, and a full bar, it’s a great spot for the adult crowd. While I haven’t eaten here during Illuminations (Epcot’s nighttime spectacular), I’ve heard it’s got a fabulous view, and I fully intend to find out someday if that’s true. I also can’t wait to try out the patio when the weather is a bit cooler!
Recommendation: Add it to your Epcot bucket list!
