My various reactions to watching In Bruges:
My main motivation for watching this movie: Colin Farrell and his accent.
Discovering the script is quite funny.
Discovering the script is 70% cuss words.
Feeling like I shouldn’t laugh at the quite hilarious comedy in between all those cuss words and disturbing plot points.
Oh look, Clemence Poesy! There’s got to be some adorable romance between her and Colin Farrell!
And then there was some weird stuff with drugs and a dwarf.
Hey Voldemort, where did you come from?
And then things started getting violent.
And one minute before the ending.
And one minute after the ending.
Well acted, well written, yet rife with language and some pretty gross violence near the end. Very definitely rated R for a reason. And yet, somehow extremely funny at times and wholly different from what I was expecting.
