NaNoWriMo Pledge

So now that National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo for short!) is REALLY just around the corner, lets talk specific goals.

My novel that I’m working on for NaNo 2019 is currently titled “Blood Bound”; it’s definitely a YA paranormal/romance/fantasy hybrid with a jumbled mix of magic types, supernatural creatures, and plenty of snark. I actually started working on this specific book probably 5-6 years ago. It’s definitely time to be done and get it on its way! Here’s the quick little summary I wrote for the Nano details:

When a crazy guy jumps out and bites Riley on the neck during her evening jog, she suspects – against all logical reasoning – that he’s a vampire. When she wakes up the next morning to find the bite gone but a crippling headache has taken it’s place, her speculation grows wilder. Then a stranger appears in her apartment, claiming she has an inheritance from her long dead parents, she only has to move to a small town she’s never heard of to claim it. Only there can Riley discover what that damn vampire unlocked when he attacked her.

The NaNo word count goal is 50,000 words in the month. I’m definitely going to aim for that in November, but when the book is finished I’d like for it to be closer to about 80,000. But baby steps.

Currently I’m imagining this will be a duology, but who knows. As I work on the second one, it make work itself out to be a trilogy.

I’m committing to updating my NaNo progress every Wednesday here on the blog. Whether I write a ton, or nothing at all. I may post little excerpts from the week’s writing if I feel it was particularly good.

Anyone else writing for NaNoWriMo? What are your writing goals?
