I remember the first time I heard this song (Oceans by Hillsong United). I was at my giant mega church in South Carolina (MISS YOU NEWSPRING!) and I remember thinking, I like this, it’s very pretty (Hillsong music usually is) and then it got to the “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders” section and I just started crying. The words are so meaningful, and the melody is simple but haunting. Hillsong writes such melodically gorgeous songs and their lyrics are deep and thought provoking (which is rather unusual in the slew of pandering Christian Music these days – don’t get me wrong, it’s not all bad. I just think Hillsong is exceptional). I would love someday to attend Hillsong Church in Australia; I have friends who have gone and they just loved it.
It’s so nice to see other Christian bloggers! I think most people (I know I have) had spiritual experiences with this song. Hillsong is definitely a favorite of mine. I always have their CD in my car, always.

I love that album! Nothing Like Your Love and Tapestry are two of my favorites. Love Hillsong Y&F (young and free), too, and my favorite Hillsong album to write or clean and whatnot to is the Hillsong White album… it’s a great remix of their songs that are kind of like white noise (hence the title, I’m sure), pretty different from the usual, but awesome at the same time. (I totally want to get that one on vinyl!)

oooh, I love Hillsong, they write such beautiful songs! 😀 As for me singing it, haha no. I think the house would fall down if I tried, haha!

I’m also a Christian – it’s so lovely that you’re also a Christian book blogger! 🙂 I agree, this song is so beautiful and has such meaningful words. Whenever I hear that song it gives me more faith to completely place my anxieties and fears in God!

Wonderful! It’s great to meet other Christian bloggers 🙂 I love how sweet and tender the “Spirit Lead Me” section is, just like Jesus beckoning us to follow him amidst the crashing waves.
Alright, that was quite poetic 🙂 If I do say so myself 🙂
