You may have seen the post a few weeks ago where I mentioned I had gone to a Barbershop Convention in Pittsburgh (Which is why I’ll be posting quite a few barbershop songs in the upcoming months on this feature). The song I chose for today was the gold medal winning chorus’ ballad (I’ll be posting their awesome up-tempo Seize the Day next week), and the first time I heard the whole thing, I was on the verge of tears. My dad and I were sitting in on their rehearsal a few days before the competition, though, so I tried very hard to rein in the feels. It is definitely the most beautiful version of A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes that I’ve ever heard, and sitting just a few rows away from close to a hundred men singing their hearts out is a very moving experience. (Seriously, guys out there, singing is SEXY. If you don’t know how, learn. Please and thank you.)
So please enjoy Westminster Chorus singing A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.
Glad to know this sort of thing endures.
My musical recommendation is ‘The Music Man’, with Shirley Jones and Robert Preston.
Cheers!

Isn’t it great? I love men’s barbershop, especially when it’s arranged and sung like this! So beautiful and powerful! And I love The Music Man! Shirley Jones is one of my absolute favorites. Her voice is gorgeous!!
