Our assignment for March from the 2015 TBR Challenge, hosted by The Misadventures of Super Librarian, was this:
Series Catch-Up (A book in a series you are behind on)
I chose to finish up The Selection series by Kiera Cass. I had read The Selection about a year ago, and The Elite had been sitting on my shelf, unread for far too long. I will be reviewing both The Elite and The One in full later this year, but here are a few thoughts about them.
First of all, these covers are gorgeous! You all know I’m a sucker for pretty covers, so there was no way I was passing these beauties up.
Over all, I really enjoy this series. There are hardly any dystopia elements, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this isn’t the series for you. This is straight up romance. It’s almost like watching The Bachelor, except the guy is the prince of a Dystopian society. There’s a serious love triangle that drove me crazy, but I was pleased with the outcome. I definitely recommend this book for YA Romance lovers.
I haven’t read this series, but I know many people who enjoy it. The covers are just gorgeous!
It’s very much like reading The Bachelor lol, which is one of my least favorite shows, but Keira Cass really makes it work! It’s entertaining and romantic, which is always a good time 🙂
Oh, those are gorgeous covers! I swear, following other folks’ TBR posts is doing nothing to help me reduce my own TBR pile. 🙂
I know right? That’s part of the problem with blogging is you always get great suggestions just by visiting someone else’s blog! It’s a vicious cycle 🙂
