Throwback Thursday and New Cover Reveal: Fighting for Infinity by Karen Amanda Hooper

The Kindrily series is one of those series I wish more people knew about. It’s really excellent (especially for an indie) and I really love it and can’t imagine why it’s not more crazy popular. Anyway, we’ve gotten a new cover for the third book in the series, Fighting for Infinity! Check it out:

And now for a throwback to my original review of Fighting for Infinity!

Grasping at Eternity (The Kindrily #1) Review  | Taking Back Forever (The Kindrily #2) Review

4 Stars

With every book in this series, Karen Amanda Hooper’s writing gets more detailed, more intense, more exciting, and more dangerous. I have been a big fan of this series since I read the first book, Grasping at Eternity, last year, and it has just gotten better and better with each installment.

The fun thing about Fighting for Infinity is that the conflict is at really high stakes throughout the entire book. You get up close and personal with Dedrick in a situation where Nathan can’t easily traverse out of (GASP) and no one really knows what is going on. Except for a mysterious little girl who is also Dedrick’s prisoner and claims to have knowledge about Maryah that she will only reveal when necessary.

Most of the action follows Maryah and this little girl (also known as Rina) as they plot to escape from Dedrick’s lair. While most of Taking Back Forever is focused on Maryah and Nathan’s relationship and developing her powers, Fighting for Infinity spends very little energy in sexy-times land, instead focusing on the driving conflict. Hooper gives us a lot here, a lot of back-story and many answers to questions from the first two. I thought Hooper tied things up nicely, giving us reasonable explanations for everything.

This series certainly has a unique premise, one that I haven’t really encountered before in YA Fantasy. Hooper writes just as well, if not better, than many big names out there, and this series is most definitely worth picking up if you like the genre.

Also, at the end of the book Hooper asks if we want more. More of the Kindrily. More of Nathan and Maryah.
