I have lots of things to say about this song lol. First of all, Naturi Naughton slays. Second of all, very cheesy, weirdly filmed, completely logistically impossible for a true live stage performance, and yet somehow completely magical at the same time (maybe excluding the awkward beginning with Kay Panabaker and cute boy whose name I have forgotten). I should say that I have always hated the original Fame movie so this gentler, cleaner version (even though most people hated it) appealed to me much more. I actually really enjoyed it when it came out. I mean, who didn’t love “Out Here On My Own” with Naturi Naughton killing it at the piano? So good. Plus, that tap battle scene? COME ON NOW.
