Saturday Shuffle #6: Anime Openers

This is where it gets a little weird guys, sorry. I’m a big fan of anime, and so many of their opening theme songs are SO DANG CATCHY. I don’t know what it is about the songs, but I just love them. They’re so fun and fluffy and ridiculous. I’m by no means saying they’re great works of art. But they are fun to listen to.

Like this first one, Moon Pride, which is the theme for Sailor Moon Crystal, sung by Momoiro Clover.

I actually think this next one is really pretty. It’s the theme from Hiiro no Kakera (LOVE. Fantasy/Romance/Action anime that is awesome and I’m honestly thinking of watching the whole thing again). This song was stuck in my head for weeks while I was watching the show.

The theme from season 2 of Zero no Tsukaima (the theme changed every season) was also stuck in my head all the dang time when I watched it. I love the opening lines of the melody. What I love about this one is they kept bringing it into the show (usually in this gorgeous piano arrangement) during really important, pivotal moments and they became so epic because of it. I really liked this anime but there’s some…er…questionable artwork/storylines so I guess be cautious if you’re interested in trying it out.

Next is actually one of my favorite animes EVER and I’m super upset they aren’t going on with it. Twelve episodes was definitely not enough for Ao Haru Ride (Blue Spring Ride). I love everything, absolutely everything about this anime (well, except for the fact that it didn’t last nearly as long as it should have). I love the sweet opening theme, the beautiful watercolor artwork, the fun characters, the angsty storylines. Everything I want in a shojo, and yet, a little more mature than your average shojo, which makes it even better.

There are so many others, but these are the ones that really stuck with me! I hope you enjoyed them as much as I do!

What do you think of these opening themes? Do you think they’re catchy or am I just weird?
