Stacking the Shelves 2-7-15

The best Stacking the Shelves posts involve those occasions where you get ARC’s direct from authors of amazing series that you’ve been reading, reviewing, and loving. This doesn’t happen to me often, but I got lucky this week.

The Hidden Library

The Hidden Library by Heather Lyons

I adored the first book, The Collectors’ Society (see my review HERE) and I did a happy dance when this appeared on my Kindle yesterday. This series is an Alice in Wonderland re-imagining, plus just some awesome sci-fi/fantasy action and romance, with dimension jumping (or something similar) and all your favorite characters from classic literature fighting evil across said dimensions. You will not be disappointed with this series!

The Emperor

The Emperor by Karen Amanda Hooper

I first heard of Karen Amanda Hooper when I was a newbie on NetGalley and I requested her lovely Grasping at Eternity (Kindrily Series). I’ve read enough of her work now to know that if it has her name on it, it’s going to be great. I get each book of hers that I can, and I’m thrilled to be one of the fortunate individuals who gets ARCs of her brilliant Sci-Fi Virtual Arcana series! This one deals with virtual reality, a terribly suffocating dystopian government, and plenty of romance! What could go wrong?

The Return

The Return by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I mostly just pre-ordered this so that I could get the extra Alex and Aiden scene. I mean, I was planning on reading The Return at some point, because it’s JLA, but Seth was never my favorite character (although I think I’ll like him a lot more when he’s not trying to interfere with Alex and Aiden), but I LOVED The Covenant Series, so I’m super excited to get back into that world.

Also, I’m not a huge fan of the cover. It’s just sort of blah. He looks so bored. I mean, I know they were just going for the stereotypical ‘shirtless hot guy’ cover, but come on.

Fall With Me

Fall With Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Again, mostly just pre-ordered this because you get a Cam and Avery bonus scene (and who doesn’t need more Cam and Avery in their lives, am I right?). I actually love this series—it’s definitely my favorite New Adult Contemporary series—so I would have gotten this when it came out anyway, but JLA is the best at getting people to pre-order her books. And this one is about Roxy and Reece, who had a mysterious storyline in Stay With Me that really needs exploring.

Changeless

Changeless  by Gail Carriger

I’m currently in the middle of the first book in this series, Soulless, and I knew I had to get the second one ASAP. Soulless is so much fun.

I’m so sorry! Jennifer Armentrout specifically said not to send the email to anyone or copy and paste the scene! I really wish I could! But I think she said something about emailing her or the publisher if this happened? I would check her website and she what she said!

Will you just answer one question about the Aiden and Alex scene? Was it something new that takes place after Sentinel, or something left out or from Aiden’s POV taking place during the series?
